My passion is teaching how the body works. - Joe Miller
Not all yogis are built alike so why should our poses look alike?
As a student, have you ever wondered why you can perform some poses better than others? It could be your bones and tissues! Not tight muscles or inflexibility. The structure of our skeleton can inform a lot of how and why we move the way we move.
This course will help deepen your understanding of anatomy and how the body works in an asana practice.
If you are a teacher, would you want to learn how to understand the human body from the inside out in order to better assist your students?
This weekend intensive course is focusing on the following poses:
The Sun Salutations
The Warriors & The Standing Poses
Hip Openers, Twists & Backbends
In this course:
- We’ll cover the major joints and muscles of the body and use that knowledge to explore the biomechanics of common asanas.
- You’ll learn to see and feel anatomical variations between students and how to make individual modifications to help your students get the most out of their practice.
OPEN TO ALL:
This course is open to yoga teachers and yoga students with a curiosity to know more about their personal alignment and any practitioner interested in learning more about the structural movements of the body.
This complete course is broken up into two separate weekend courses, in February and in March. This allows time to absorb and apply what you learn in each weekend.
