Functional Anatomy with Joe Miller

  • Kaia Yoga Mamaroneck 112 West Boston Post Road Mamaroneck, NY, 10543 United States (map)

This training will help deepen your understanding of anatomy and how the body works in asana practice.

We’ll cover the major joints and muscles of the body and use that knowledge to explore the biomechanics of common asanas. You’ll learn to see and feel anatomical variations between students and how to make individual modifications to help your students get the most out of their practice.

This course is open to yoga teachers, yoga students with a curiosity to know more about their personal alignment and any practitioner interested in learning more about the structural movements of the body.

Joe Miller is a New York City-based yoga teacher who teaches anatomy and physiology for Kaia Yoga. He has taught anatomy and physiology for yoga teachers around the U.S. and internationally for more than 15 years. He completed his initial yoga teacher training at OM Yoga Center in New York in 2000, then went on to earn a master’s degree in applied physiology at Columbia University.
