Tom Johnson

Tom discovered the practice of yoga while living in London and working in Corporate Finance. He returned from London to San Francisco where he practiced Vinyasa and Bikram yoga for over 25 years before relocating to the East Coast and achieving his E-RYT200 teaching certification. He continues to deepen his yoga teaching and meditation practice through continuing education with Gina Norman, Jason Crandell, Janet Stone and others.

Tom credits his yoga practice with counteracting the relentless stress and sedentary effects of a long career in Corporate Finance and the distractions of ADHD. He values the inclusive nature of yoga and thinks “every body” - every age, gender identity, ethnicity, body type and ability - can develop and benefit from a regular yoga practice.

Tom takes his commitment to yoga seriously but believes the practice can be accessible and playful. His classes focus on alignment in the postures and include connection to yoga philosophy, breathwork and the inner self.  He enjoys bringing the transformational power of yoga to the community to help individuals restore strength and flexibility in their minds and bodies; enabling them to rediscover their true, more compassionate selves and be a positive force within their communities.
