Lee Rafsky

While living in New York City and struggling through various running injuries and a demanding PhD program in immunology, Lee stumbled upon her first yoga class and was immediately drawn to its physical and psychological benefits.  Originally a native of Southern Connecticut, Lee now resides in Darien with her husband, working as a medical scientist in the biotech industry and teaching vinyasa classes at Kaia.

After a decade of practicing yoga, Lee completed her 200-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training at Kaia in 2022 where she grew her individual practice and learned how to pass on her love for yoga to other students.  She is currently pursuing her 500-hour yoga teacher training with Kaia Yoga.

Lee’s teaching style focuses on alignment, philosophy, and creative sequencing to thoughtfully prepare students for more vigorous poses.  She subscribes to the idea that yoga is for everybody, and her classes offer options for more challenging poses or transitions as well as modifications to make classes accessible for all.  She whole-heartedly believes in the transformative power of yoga, and her goal is to leave students feeling both calm and accomplished by helping them to achieve greater self-awareness through mind-body connection.
