Allison Kern
Allison Kern is an Experienced 500 hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher and Ayurveda Educator who is dedicated to personal growth, self-discovery and living yoga on and off the mat. She provides a gentle, deep practice offering healing and attention to self care.. Allison's passion and expertise are found in teaching yoga to students looking to release chronic tension through slower asana, breath awareness, guided imagery, meditation and deep relaxation.She offers an in-depth knowledge of the practice with modifications and variations, clear instruction, creative sequencing and intuitive insights into each student’s needs.
Allison has over 20 years of certified yoga teaching experience in lower Westchester with groups and private clients. She is a graduate of both the Kripalu School of Yoga and the Kripalu School of Ayurveda, where she continues her studies several times a year. In addition, she is trained to provide healing and care for students with cardiac, cancer, and other medical concerns, certified through Abundant Well Being: Yoga of the Heart- Cardiac and Cancer Training in Mind Body Therapy (Nischala Joy Devi). She trained with Amy Weintraub in Yoga for Depression. She is a Rest and Renew Restorative Yoga Teacher with Judith Lasater and Minimum Props Restorative with Jillian Pransky. Allison has studied Yin Yoga with Sarah Powers and Joe Barnett and Buddhist insight meditation with David Nichtern.
Allison is known for her compassionate, supportive and nurturing approach, heart based soothing practices, humor, and authenticity.
