Katie Salisbury

Katie first started doing yoga at 16, and instantly fell in love. Moving from Rhode Island to Connecticut in 2017, she needed a community and turned to a yoga studio in New Haven. With a hectic marketing and management background, yoga was her daily hour just for her.

In January 2020, she decided to change industries to health and wellness, starting at the front desk at a fitness studio in Hamden. Unemployed during the stages of lockdown, virtual yoga classes brought the comfort and support Katie needed during such a challenging time. This time also brought a gentle tug to becoming certified as an ACE group fitness instructor and RYT 200 hour yoga teacher.

Completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training at the same studio that welcomed her with open arms in 2017, Katie welcomes all bodies and all people into her yoga classes. She believes that you are your own yoga teacher, she is simply a guide. Doing what feels good in your body, and following your own breath pattern is yoga. Outside of Kaia, Katie loves to give back to the greater New Haven community leading donation based classes for under-served communities.
