About the Retreat Facilitator

Holly Arcadi is a local Westport Mom and certified and experienced Yoga Teacher with over 1,000-hours of training, who after a lengthy career in Digital Marketing, decided to follow her passion within the yoga community. She completed her initial 200 hour YTT with Dice and Briohny Smyth, and not one but two 300 hour advanced trainings with Kaia Yoga and with Cathy Madeo Yoga. During her 20 years of yoga practice, she has been exposed to many different styles of yoga all over the world. Yoga has always been like “pizza” to her- she has never met a slice she didn’t like! That being said, she was taught to teach a style of class that she would want to take.

She tends to gravitate towards Power/Vinyasa/flow yoga classes because building strength, flexibility, and balance in the mind and body is equally as important as building those attributes in life. In her classes, you can expect a powerful, mindful, well-crafted experience designed to energize, ground, and empower you to be the best version of yourself both on and off your mat. She loves arm balancing, inversions and challenging transitions, so you can expect to have the option to explore.

  • Important Notes related to transportation:

Plan to arrive at least 1 day prior the retreat start and plan to depart 1 day after retreat end; so you can account for a day before/after to travel to our private Amorgos Island!

Note: there is not an airport on Amorgos Island so you will have to ferry to/from Amorgos Island

You can take a longer ferry directly from Athens to Amorgos (and return)

OR You can take a shorter ferry from Naxos or Santorini but you’ll have to fly from Athens airport to Naxos or Santorini on a jumper plane. Your choice!

Option to fly directly to Athens:

You can take a direct flight from JFK or Newark to Athens on American, Delta, or United

They are about 9 hours overnight

Once in Athens, you can get to Amorgos a few ways:

There are a few ferry options that range from 6-8 hours with the earliest departing at 6:45 am and the latest around 12:00 pm. Depending on your flight arrival time, you can possibly get to Amorgos the same day or spend the night in Athens and take the ferry the next day.

You can arrange a private boat shuttle that will leave any time that day. Benefits include skipping ferry lines. There are several companies that offer boat taxis/transfers if you check google.

You can take a 40 minute flight on Ryanair to Santorni followed by a short 1 hour ferry ride to Amorgos (more on Santorini below). Planes are similar to shuttles to/from DC, Chicago, etc with 50+ passengers

Option to fly to Santorini with one stop:

You can take a 6-8 hour flight from JFK or Newark with a layover, followed by an approx 2-3 hour flight to Santorini.

Flights stop in several cities including Paris, Amsterdam, London and Rome if you want to extend your trip through one of those destinations

You can also do a brief layover. As an example, there is one flight through Paris that has a 90 minute layover and you shouldn't need to go through customs or security if you don't leave the terminal.

Once in Santorini, you can get to Amorgos a few ways:

There is one ferry per day that departs from Santorini to Amorgos that departs at 12:20 pm daily. That is 1 hour and 15 minutes

If your flight arrives early enough, you can take that ferry over. If not, you can spend the night in Santorini and depart the next day. There are several hotels and air bnbs available.

There are also private options available including a private boat (arranged through a local boat company) or a 40 minute helicopter (arranged through the hotel)

Note: boat departure times and route can be very unpredictable due to winds

    To return home:

You can reverse these plans to return home and should be advised that the shuttle to Santorini leaves once daily at 1:25 pm and leaves for Athens 1-3 times per day depending on the day of the week. There is one overnight option to Athens, allowing you to catch a flight the next day.
