OM Meditation Teacher Training Part One
The focus of the OM Meditation Teacher Training program is for participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of meditation practice and stages of the Buddhist path. Students will deepen their personal practice and develop the skill sets for presenting meditation and its benefits in a genuinely supportive and clear way.
Anyone with a genuine interest in developing a personal meditation practice or leading meditation in a professional context will benefit from this training. This may include people seeking to broaden their qualifications, such as yoga teachers, yoga students, health professionals, life coaches or leaders in any field.
The OM Meditation Teacher Training, the first meditation certification of its kind, is structured in three levels. Participants may take any or all of the three levels but they must be taken in sequence.
Upon completion of the entire training, you will:
deepen your meditation practice
gain a clear overview of the Buddhist path
learn and practice a variety of meditation techniques
clarify your understanding of the fundamentals of meditation practice
learn and experience the benefits of meditation practice, and
learn how to teach meditation to groups and individuals
Who is eligible?
Anyone with a genuine interest in meditation practice who would like to:
deepen their own practice and understandingÂ
and/or
move toward helping others with their practice;
Recommended for yoga students, yoga teachers, social workers, therapists, school teachers, life coaches, business coaches, leaders in any field. Meditation instruction and practice is a beneficial addition to all other modalities, including one’s every day life and relationships.
Level 1
Level 1 Practices:
Shamatha (Mindfulness)
Introduction to:
Vipashyana (Insight/Awareness),
Maitri (Loving Kindness)
Contemplative Meditation
Time Commitment:
Friday 6 – 9 pm
Saturday 9 – 5 pm
3 hours of reading/study prior to Level 1
5 hours of reading/study following Level 1
Preparatory Reading Recommended: TBD

Cyndi Lee is the founder of OM Yoga. A practitioner of both hatha yoga and Tibetan Buddhism, Cyndi is known as a nurturing and compassionate teacher with an offbeat and playful style. Cyndi is the author of Yoga Body, Buddha Mind, OM Yoga in a Box, OM Yoga: A Guide to Daily Practice, and the recently released OM Yoga & Meditation Workshop DVD (with her husband, David Nichtern).
